musical friends

a big hey goes out to rebecca, who gave me a copy of michigan today. I've just started listening, but im tototally diggin it. sufjan is just an amazing songwriter.

also, thanx for the other cd. which i already have, but its fitting. on that note, antony and the johnsons are terrific, but definately not for everyone.

lastly... flicking back to sufjan. i read a review of illinois that said it was just prog rock, like genesis or yes. hello? how is that a bad thing. some of those artists albums from the early 70s were absolutely ground breaking (read here fragile in particular). i would love to think of sufjan as the equivalent of these guys, in this context.

if only there was as much creatvity now as there was in that golden period (67-73).
