in my opinion... magic dirt are one of the most overated australian acts of all time.
recording wise, all there songs pretty much sound the same. they kicked a goal with dirty jeans a few years ago, so they keep replicating it (by the way, i liked that one song of theirs)
live... i saw them at livid a few years back, and got real bored real quick. also, i have seen a couple of other clips of their shows, and well... they picked the best songs??? she doesnt stick to the melodies and the band is just predictable.
i wouldnt recomend going out of your way to see them
having said this, im sure they are all lovely people, and have nothing against them personally.

I really can not believe that ANYONE would be so self serving as to feel it's so important to take time out of their lives to explicitly trash a band. IF it was during conversation, thats one thing, but this is so far over the line.

all im doing is responding to the fact that chanel V, triple j and festival organisers continue to promote these guys. i dont think they are worthy of it.
so, there is no need to personally attack me (people dont come to me for advice), and throw that PMS line around. its what i think dude...
by the way, i love your justification - if its in conversation thats one thing - read here a justification for everytime youve ever totally cut down music someone else likes, and why thats ok, and me criticising the music of magic dirt (not the ppl but the musis) is not ok.

Yes, Magic Dirt suck, have sucked and always will suck.
They are from an era that everyone has forgotten about, except themselves. They belong to days gone by, along with flanalette shirts, long unwashed hair and Helen and Mikey or JJJ.
Don't get me wrong - love the past, and embrace it for what it was, but move on. 'Tis the only way.
